Description

A unique gift for the true Eames collector.
As part of their decades-long collaboration with IBM, The Office of Charles and Ray Eames created a special version of their famous ?House of Cards? for the IBM Pavilion at the 1970 World's Fair in Osaka, Japan.
Offset lithograph printed in W. Germany, each card features a macro photograph of of a different computer component. The cards themselves are highly prized collectibles, although not very practical to display in their original, assembled form.
Several years ago, I commissioned a dozen cards to be professionally encased in lucite to give as a "thank you" to sponsors and speakers at my masters thesis from Stanford (see last photo) at the first public exhibition of The Eames Office's communications design work for IBM during the Golden Age of Computing.
I had a few extras which I offered for sale and quickly sold out. I recently commissioned another run and am offering them for sale to collectors who treasure Eames? work, but don?t want to risk damaging their own set of Computer House of Cards by displaying them.
